Job Description

Emaar for Development and Rehabilitation (Emaar) is a leading nongovernmental organization founded in 2006. Since then, Emaar has been efficiently engaged in the development and society rehabilitation in Gaza strip. Emaar seeks the services of full-time fundraising officer to accomplish the following:

Position Title: Fundraising Officer (Full time)

Period: 12 Months with Possibility of Extension

Starting Date: 1st August, 2017

Salary: Competitive

Location: Khanyounis

Key Functions

• Working towards raising funds for Emaar activities (applying, following‐up and receiving funds).
• Participate and assist in the identification of needs and areas of support for organizations interventions in line with its vision and mandate.
• Prepare and manage the writing of concept notes, project ideas and project proposals and ensure their timely submission.
• Developing and deepening existing donor relationships.
• Identifying and contacting potential donors and following up on calls for proposals
• Prepare annual plans for fundraising and follow-up the implementation of the plan; in line with the fundraising strategy of Emaar association.
• Representing Emaar at meetings with donors and external events and providing assistance in organizing any fundraising events for the organization.
• Following up on all agreements with all donors and create strong fundraising messages that appeal to potential donors.

Deliverables 

• Project proposal/grant applications for specific sources of funding milestones to be developed as part of planning
• Donor database (updated from time to time)
• Fundraising plans (preferably annual) developed.
• Fund raising events (as per annual plans)

Qualifications & Experience

• A. degree in management, engineering, social sciences, or any related fields. Master’s degree would be highly evaluated.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of strategic development and fundraising experience.
• Demonstrated success in preparing proposals and grant applications that have been approved for funding.
• Familiarity with sources of funding for civil society projects.
• Knowledge of fundraising cycles, proposal formats and application procedures for key donors, including Logical Framework Analysis.
• Very strong knowledge of English and highly developed oral and written communications skills.
